We’re having a book sale at the library, come to find a new read at a bargain prices! All proceeds from the sale supports the ongoing costs of the library.
We have adult fiction, non-fiction and children’s books for sale.
If you have any unwanted books you can donate for the sale, please drop them off at the library.
Book Sale: Saturday, 14th October 10:15am – 12:30pm At Narborough and Littlethorpe Community Library
We’re having an Autumn Fayre on September 23rd, 2pm – 4:30pm.
There will be gifts, crafts and cards for sale, prize to be won in a tombola and children’s bran tub. We also have a jar of sweets to win if you can guess how many are in the jar and a cake to win if you can guess the weight!
It’s also the last chance to enter our raffle, prizes include a luxury hamper from Asda, and prizes from Next, LivingWell health club, Copt Oak, Mill on the Soar, Narborough Eye Care and more. The raffle will be drawn at 3:45pm.
All proceeds from sales will fund the library so come along and support your local library.
Another chance to fill up your bookshelves – we’re having another pre-loved book sale!
In conjunction with the sales at Dale’s and Eleven Eleven, the sale will be on Sunday 6th August, at 2:30pm – 5:30pm.
If you have any books you would like to donate to be sold, drop them into the library. These sales raise much needed funds that go towards running the library.
For those new to the challenge, it is hosted annually by The Reading Agency, who set the theme and provide incentives to encourage children to read during the summer holidays. We have stickers to collect and medals to be won!
How It Works
Any library member aged 4 – 11 can join in, you can join the library for free at any time.
Sign up for the challenge at any time from July 1st, your child will get a starter pack including stickers, a reading goal is set and your child can take part in our treasure hunt at the library.
Any book counts towards their reading goal, including comics, ebooks and audiobooks.
Upon returning books, your child will be given more stickers and a bookmark.
When the reading goal is met (6 books or more!) your child will receive a certificate and medal!
Your child has until September 2nd to complete their challenge.
Sign Up Event
We will be holding a sign-up event on Saturday, July 1st 10am -1pm, outside the library, our Summer Reading Challenge heroes will be there to answer any questions. If you can’t make it, any librarian can sign your child up at any time over the summer and provide them with a starter pack during our usual opening hours.

This year’s theme is play, sport and games, so your child can read about their favourite sports, athletes, and games. The Reading Agency has teamed up with the Youth Sports Trust to inspire children to read and get active. Book recommendations can be found online here, or you can come along to the library and browse our shelves.
