Welcome to our Community Managed Library! We serve the two local villages, Narborough and Littlethorpe and our small library is located near to the train station and shops. For all of our facilities please see the ‘In the library‘ section.

Narborough and Littlethorpe Library is entirely run by a team of volunteers.  The library committee, along with the volunteers, have made a huge effort to continue to offer library services throughout the Covid pandemic and are striving to improve the services we offer to the community. The library became a Community Managed library in 2017 and gradually over the last 5 years  financial support from LCC has been withdrawn so that now we  have to be completely  financially  self supporting. Fundraising is very important to keep the services  we provide  viable and we are very grateful for all the support we recieve from the community through donations, attending events, being a ‘Friend of the Library’, buying pre-loved books or purchasing raffle tickets.

The volunteer librarians have managed to maintain the opening hours originally set by Leicestershire Libraries and also offer extra activities outside of the general library opening hours eg pre-school visits, Family History Research, Technology Help ( Digital Drop-in) and a Craft and Social  Group ( Busy Hands and Minds) . Please check the News Section for updates on all of our events.

If you would like to become a volunteer or find out more about volunteering then head over to the Volunteers Page to find out more information. We are a very friendly group of people and always welcome new helpers! We also offer volunteering opportunities for Duke of Edinburgh students from the age of 14 (just ask to put your name on our waiting list).

For LINKS to local council services, bus timetables and local heritage see our ‘Contact Us’ page.

We welcome donations of good quality books (published within the last 5 years) to add to our book stock, and donations to help with running costs.
