Whether your child loves one of Roald Dahl’s novels or the wizarding world of Harry Potter, World Book Day is the perfect opportunity to raid their fancy dress wardrobe to celebrate the wonder of reading. We would love to see the children in their fancy dress costumes or you could send us a photograph of them with their favourite book.
World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. It is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997 to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading which is what we want them to do by using the library to discover their favourite book or find a new one.
If you would like to lead a story telling session for young readers or to start a children’s book club please do get in touch.
In line with Government guidelines the library will no longer be able to provide lateral flow tests as before.
Lateral flow tests are available FREE, on-line for delivery to your home address or from a local pharmacy. We can assist you to order lateral flow tests and get your Covid Passports at the Digital Drop-In session on Wednesday mornings 10.30-12.30. Everyone is welcome to come along.
As from November 3rd the library will extend its opening hours to remain open until 7pm on Wednesday evenings.

Can you spare an hour or two ? We are looking for willing volunteers to help at the Library. Please contact us via email nandlclibrary@gmail.com or Via the Facebook page
